Membership

Joining Tawny’s is a process rather than a transaction — and that is precisely what gives it its value. There is no checklist of profession or background. What the Committee looks for is character: someone who holds himself to a good standard, values genuine connection, and will contribute something to the circle he is joining.

  1. I

    Recommendation

The natural route in is through an existing member, who personally vouches for the candidate. Those without a mutual contact are welcome to get in touch directly.

  2. II

    Consideration

Every candidate is looked at properly by the Committee before an invitation is extended, on proposal, seconding and approval, followed by payment of the joining fee.

  3. III

    Probationary Period

New members are welcomed through a short settling-in period before full membership is conferred — the point at which many of the club's most enduring friendships begin to form.

“Brotherhood first — and everything else follows from that.”
